Power Drive and Networks

Ensure that all Computers
connected to the network are set to the same Workgroup and are given a
name.
To achieve that, select Start, Control
panel, performance and maintenance, system, Computer name, change
- Ensure all printer on all computers
are working,
visible in
printers and faxes and are able to print a Windows test page
successfully.
All printers which will be used by other computers have to be
shared.
To share a printer , highlight the required printer and right-click on
the printer and select sharing
- Decide which computer will the host.
The host will store all information which will be shared and used by
all other computers.On the Host, ensure the folder:
C:\program files\power
drive is fully shared.To share a folder, highlight the folder
name, right-click on the folder and select
Sharing and Security.
Ensure the share name remains Power Drive
and
select Allow Network users to change my files

- nstall printers on other computers if
the are required
(ie. Bar Printer, Kitchen Printer)
- To install the printers, go to
Printers and Faxes and select Add Printer
Select to install a network
printer and
browse for
the printer
Ensure all installed printers are visible in printer and faxes and are
able to print a window test page successfully.
- Start Powerdrive on each computer
attached to the network and
go to Toolbox and setup you printers.
Powerdrive will show the user all printers which are currently
installed on the computer, which can be selected from.
- Remain in Toolbox and
select browse
form the
section Location of Main Database on Network.
Select next step and enter the name of host computer. Powerdrive will the search in
the Program files/power drive folder of the computer which name was
given by the user.
If the connection is successful Power drive will display Path has
been accepted info. To disconnect from the network select C.
